Dress Code

ADDITIONALLY:

  • Pullover sweatshirts must be PLAIN black, blue, red, or white or be a Kairos sweatshirt. The exception to this is that Colleges/Universities and Sports Teams on pullover sweatshirts are allowed to be any color and may have logos larger than 2 X 2. These are the only exceptions.

    • Pullover sweatshirts that only advertise an athletic brand, such as Champion or Nike, are NOT allowed, unless the logo is 2 X 2 or less.

    • Dress Code compliant polo/collared shirts MUST be worn under the sweatshirt.

  • *Full-front zippered sweatshirts (zipper from neck to waist) do not need to be plain black, blue, red, or white, as they are considered “jackets.” Dress Code compliant polo/collared shirts MUST be worn under the full-zippered sweatshirt.

  • Non-compliant shirts/sweatshirts may not be turned inside-out to comply with the Dress Code

  • Patterned long or short sleeve shirts (ex.: plaid) are not considered jackets and are not allowed to be worn.

  • Clothing is to be appropriately worn as intended.

  • Any outerwear or excessively bagging clothing (blankets, robes, snuggies, flags etc.) is not allowed unless during an administrator approved spirit/dress up day or as a reward.

  • STUDENTS WHO EARN FREE DRESS PASSES MUST WEAR THE STICKER (ELEMENTARY SCHOOL) ON THEIR CHEST OR WRISTBAND (MIDDLE SCHOOL) THE FRIDAY THAT THEY ARE IN “FREE DRESS.” FREE DRESS PASSES ARE ONLY ALLOWED ON FRIDAYS with the exception of birthday/special reward passes.

  • “FREE DRESS” EXPECTATIONS: NO HOLES IN CLOTHING, ALL SHIRTS MUST HAVE SLEEVES (NO HOLES), NO TANK TOPS/SPAGHETTI-STRAP TOPS, SHORTS MUST STILL BE MID-THIGH, GRAPHICS/WORDING ON SHIRTS MUST BE SCHOOL-APPROPRIATE.

Footwear:

Pursuant to state law, footwear must be worn at all times. For safety reasons, flip flops, backless shoes, and tennis shoes with wheels are prohibited. Flexibility is given for the types of colored socks worn.

Repeated violation of the dress code(s) shall be considered disruption of school activities and/or willful defiance of valid school personnel authority. Appropriate consequences shall be specified and implemented according to the discipline policies and may lead to suspension, expulsion, or dismissal from KPS.
