OPEN ENROLLMENT PERIOD -  

Kairos Foundations & Leadership Academies: January 1st-February 28th, 2026 at 4 PM

Kairos Innovative Scholars: January 1st - February 28th 2026 at 4 PM

Kairos Luminary Academy High School: January 1st - January 31st 2026 at 4 PM

 

ONGOING APPLICATIONS - All School-Year

 
Open Enrollment Applications for the 2026-2027 school year are available starting January 1st, 2026 through February 28th, 2026. (January 1st-31st for Kairos Luminary Academy High School) for families interested in enrolling their children into one of Kairos Public Schools academies for next school year. Any applications dated after open enrollment period ends will be numbered in the order they are received.
 
LOTTERY* - Should the number of student applications, submitted by the stated deadline, exceed the number of spaces available in any given grade, a random public lottery will be held to determine admission, per the requirements of Ed Code 47605(d)(2)(B). 
 
Lotteries will be held on February 13th at 4 PM for Kairos Luminary Academy (9th-12th) and March 27th @ 4 PM for TK-8th grades (flex-based homeschool site and traditional on-site academies) via our Kairos Youtube Channel
The following guidelines apply to the application process (please see "Admission Preferences" below for complete details and policy):
  • By law, all Kairos Public Schools applicants are accepted by a public random drawing.
  • Applicants not drawn for enrollment in the lottery will be given an order number for the "wait list."
  • All families will be notified by email and/or text of their status in the lottery drawing.
  • It is the responsibility of the guardian/parent to notify Kairos of preferences that apply to the applicant, and to provide verification of that preference.
  • Should your child not be accepted and would like to re-apply for the following school year, you will need to submit another application form during open enrollment the following year.

Admission Preferences* 

The public random drawings shall be conducted in stages in accordance with the following preferences in the priority order listed below.  These preferences are authorized in accordance with applicable law.
 
If the Charter School receives a number of applications that exceed the number of available seats at any given grade level, a random public lottery will be hosted and preference for the available spaces and will be given to students consistent with Education Code section 47605(d)(2)(B) in this order:
 

Admission preferences for KPS’ nonclassroom-based TK-8 program, Kairos Innovative Scholars Academy:

  1. Sibling of currently enrolled or admitted students in KISP
  2. Children or grandchildren of KPS employees, current members of the Board of Directors, Foundation Board Members and elected Advisors to the Board applying for KISP
  3. Students enrolled in the KPS site-based program by October 1st of the current school year
  4. Sibling(s) of students enrolled in the KPS site-based program, as long as the sibling was enrolled by October 1st of the current school year
  5. Students who reside within one mile of the KISP learning center at 850 Sunflower Street at the time the open enrollment application is completed
  6. Students who qualify as socioeconomically disadvantaged (students are not required to provide this information to apply to KPS, but must do so in order to be eligible to receive the benefit from this preference)
  7. Students on the KISP waitlist from the previous year (who submitted an application during the open enrollment period for current year enrollment)
  8. Students residing within Vacaville Unified School District boundaries
  9. All other students

 

Admission preferences for KPS’ site-based programs: Kairos Foundational Academy and Kairos Leadership Academy:

  1. Siblings of currently enrolled or admitted students in the site-based program
  2. Children or grandchildren of KPS employees, current members of the Board of Directors, Foundation Board Members and elected Advisors to the Board applying for the site-based program
  3. Students enrolled in KISP by October 1st of the current school year
  4. Sibling(s) of students enrolled in KISP, as long as the sibling was enrolled by October 1st of the current school year
  5. Students who reside within one mile of the KPS site-based program’s campus at 129 Elm Street at the time the open enrollment application is completed
  6. Students who qualify as socioeconomically disadvantaged (students are not required to provide this information to apply to KPS, but must do so in order to be eligible to receive the benefit from this preference)
  7. Students on the site-based program waitlist from the previous year (who submitted an application during the open enrollment period for current year enrollment)
  8. Students residing within Vacaville Unified School District boundaries.
  9. All other students

 

Admission preferences for KPS’ nonclassroom-based high school program, Kairos Luminary Academy:

 
  1. Siblings of currently enrolled or admitted students in KLA
  2. Children or grandchildren of KPS employees, current members of the Board of Directors, Foundation Board Members and elected Advisors to the Board applying for KLA
  3. Students enrolled in 8th grade at either KPS’ site-based program or KISP by October 1st of the current school year
  4. Sibling(s) of students enrolled at either KPS’ site-based program or at KISP by October 1st of the current school year
  5. Students whose residence is within one mile of the KLA learning center at, or adjacent to, 850 Sunflower Street at the time the open enrollment application is completed.
  6. Students who qualify as socioeconomically disadvantaged (students are not required to provide this information to apply to KPS, but must do so in order to be eligible to receive the benefit from this preference)
  7. Students on the KLA waitlist from the previous year (who submitted an application during the open enrollment period for current year enrollment)
  8. Students residing within Vacaville Unified School District boundaries
  9. All other students
*Applied to Open Enrollment Applicants only -- all applicants dated after Feb. 28th, 2026 at 4PM (Jan. 31st, 2026 for KLAHS) will be included in a monthly lottery to determine waitlist order.
